In late November we should have been renewed on our Tapco insurance but never received a bill. After several attempts to reach my Agent at World Insurance, I was told that my policy had expired. I was assured that a notice had been issued but this is not the first time this has happened. I asked for another quote to reinstate my policy and received a new quote with the caveat that Tapco no longer offers wind insurance. Kind of important in Florida. My agent said that she needed a 4-point inspection in hand to shop the policy with other carriers. So I paid $175 for an inspection (by the way, though it wasn’t mentioned, I assumed you needed the Windstorm Mitigation inspection as well, so I got that too). Forwarded the inspection results via email on 1/4 and never received a response.
I concur with the folks who have said that this company used to be great, but is no longer. I've had repeated incidents since the changeover of trying to get in touch with my agent, and not getting a call back. I got a cancellation notice directly from the insurer as a form that World Insurance must submit on my behalf was never submitted. I called the insurer to see if it's a form I can submit on my own behalf, but was told I may not. I need World Insurance to submit for me. I've left 3 messages since 9/12/22, and today when I called and got an operator, I was told that an "urgent" email would be sent to my agent asking her to call me back. We'll see if that works.
I sold my home on October 9 and have left 5 voice mail messages since that day attempting to cancel the policy and get a refund on the unused premium. I am told I can only cancel by speaking to someone but I have left messages for both Connie Beneta (4 messages) and Sherry Gray (1 message) and have not heard back from either of them. I emailed Cara for assistance and never heard back from her either. I have no idea about "friendly staff" or "good attitude" since no one has called me back.
they were great at first when I purchased my initial policies. But now, they dont respond by email or phone. I have remained courtois. A few mishaps have pushed me to get policies elsewhere. But I now have to pay a past due bill I do not understand and neither insurance company nor West Coast will respond. I am still a current client of West Coast though. Last time I got to talk to them, I was supposed to know and understand how clients are managed whether alphabetical or numbers to know which reps I was assigned to. So I have 2, but one left and no one followed up.... In regards to my past due issue, I guess there is a 3rd rep at West Coast as well, which I left a message as well. In any event, I never got a response from 3 reps. My issue is still on going. 2 months later.
Insurance company used to be great. My local rep left and was replaced by an assistant Cara. She wouldn’t respond and I was told she no longer works there. Now, another company bought out this company and it’s gotten worse, if that’s possible. I’ve waited MONTHS for a simple task to be completed by the new rep, Connie. I’ve CC’d the new manager Greg and things just aren’t being handled well. They don’t respond to emails or calls and, honestly, I’m over it. Insurance shouldn’t be this difficult. I would not recommend this company at all. If things are this difficult and NOT having a claim, imagine what you’d have to endure if you had one.
