I just got off the phone with a very rude and condescending woman named Linda. She speaks to people like they're in preschool, like she's above them. Not only did she get extremely nasty with me once, but twice. Unfortunately, I can't cancel my life insurance policy, which I was deceived about when I opened it but I have canceled my homeowners and auto insurance. I strongly recommend canceling your auto and homeowners with them or not starting any policy with them at all. What appeared to be a really good thing a few years back has become an enormous disappointment and huge waste of hard earned money. I truly feel for the kind professionals, trying their best and have to work with this woman, Linda.
If i could give zero stars I would. This was my second instance that I have reached out to the office to make a change in my policy due to a new purchase and again spoke to a woman that became extremely rude when she could find the brand/maker that i had purchase. I reached out to another state farm office, to have my policy switched and was told only the initail agent could do this. I called back and was told by a very pleasant young man, that the agent doesn't have set office hours. After this, I will be switching companies all together, not just agents.
I often call a couple times a year because we are upgrading bikes, buying a new car, and even moved… always been pretty nice to deal with. Even when they have gotten the policy on the bikes completely incorrect, they were always pleasant in getting it worked out. TODAY, three days before Christmas, I call to replace some bikes on our policy and the woman I dealt with (Cynthia, the sales manager) was very short and kind of rude. When I told her the purpose for my call she acted as if it wasn’t my policy or was surprised! When I asked who I was speaking to she didn’t want to give me her full name. The reason I asked for her full name was because I knew there was two Cynthia’s in the office and if this was the “owner”, I would, for sure be taking my business elsewhere.
Ms. Anne Marie Gilbert has an attitude problem. She would benefit from a retraining on how to properly speak and explain things to customers. At first she put me on hold every couple words she spoke and I could barely get a word in. She spoke in a very rude tone. I did not react or respond to her rudeness- but I think she realized the way she spoke to me was unprofessional. She said something like “I’m sorry I’m not trying to sound rude that’s just the way it is” so clearly she knew she was unprofessional. From the reviews I read- it sounds like the whole office needs a retraining on their customer service skills.
At first I was reluctant to switch my insurance company because I was complacent with the insurance company I had been with for a very long time. I took the time to get a quote. The girl who helped me was so polite, professional and answered all my questions. Making the switch was fast and painless. We have six cars in my family, and now I’m saving hundreds. I even moved my home owners insurance to State Farm as well. I have referred all my friends and family and everyone raves about the responsiveness they have received. Now I really enjoy having a local office I can visit for prompt courteous service.
