IF YOU CHOOSE ANTHEM AS YOUR PLAN, THEN YOU DEFINITELY NEED A DOCTOR. THIS IS THE WORST INSURANCE IVE EVER DEALT WITH. THEY SHOULDN'T EVEN EXSIST!! I HATE THEM AND BE CAREFUL BECAUSE THEY WILL SCREW YOU OUT OF MEDICALLY NECESSARY MEDICATION EVEN IF THEY HAVE TO MAKE UP AN EXCUSE. WE SHOULD DO A BLACKOUT AND EVERY SINGLE PERSON DISCONTINUE THEIR PLANS SO THEY HAVE NO CLIENTS!! 😡🤬

They randomly assign you a PCP. I tried to change this to my actual PCP through website live chat and it hung up on me and would not reload. I called and a genuinely helpful customer rep did all she could and even spoke to her administrator, but the computer system will not let her change to my actual PCP because they are out of network. I asked if I could just have the PCP line on my card blank so my medical records don't get sent to this random person they chose, but they can't do that either. I tried to fill out the customer satisfaction survey at the end of the call, but it only asks about how helpful the person on the phone was (she was great), not the actual computer systems/permissions they have set up (awful).

After three days, 4 hours of hold time and phone time, and a lost therapy appointment , I cannot recommend Anthem of Virginia to anyone who wants a secure and reliable health plan! Over the course of this Trumatic time , after total knee replacement surgery, and trying to seek essential physical therapy, I can only say that your employee Cassie , was able to resolve the log jam for a therapy appointment today! Cassie has gone above and beyond on my behalf! I wish I could say that for the other individuals I spoke with in customer service including a supervisor. I was given misinformation and lost valuable treatment time! I expect a company to whom I pay dearly for coverage , to provide it!

High premiums, high deductibles, and they continually refuse or deny care because they want to tell the doctor how to treat the patient, whom they've never seen. Not that this matters, because the prior authorization representatives are high-school graduates reading from a script on what's covered and what isn't.

Anthem isn't worth the headache, rides never show up on time and I almost always have to cancel my appointment, do better!!!!
