I recently decided to shop around for car insurance because my renewal with Allstate was coming up. I was quoted a policy with State Farm that was about $25 less per month than what I was paying, which sounded great. The process was smooth at first — the representatives were kind, courteous, and very helpful. They collected my payment and officially started my policy, which made everything seem finalized and set. However, four days later, I received a call from the State Farm office informing me that they could not honor the original quote because something showed up on my motor vehicle record.
