They are very good at getting you hooked. When it came time to renew our insurance, we were told we would receive our premium quotes months before renewal. Instead, our agent waited until the day before our policy expired, essentially forcing us to sign immediately so that our coverage would not lapse. After contacting the North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI), we learned this unethical practice is unfortunately common among certain agents and, in many cases, may even be considered criminal.
