To all the future clients that have problems with this insurance company, when you are out of work, filing a workmen comp claim. I strongly urge you to seek an attorney, they will make sure that Unum will pay what your are to be given.

This is one of the most horrible places I have ever had to deal with. They don't waste anytime taking the premiums from your check, but takes their sweet time paying you. The trouble I have had dealing with these people is beyond ridiculous. I was out of work for 6wks before I even received a payment that was not even enough to pay anything. Just never have surgery, unless you can afford to be without a paycheck. I'm supposed to have another surgery, but I'm praying to God that it heals itself because I will not deal with them again.

I find it comical all these people below me leaving reviews expect insuarance companies to drop everything theyre doing, and run them a check immediatley in the mail. If you buy the cheapest insurance coverage you get the cheapest results... This company has always answered my calls, kept me updated and provided great service. Ive never had a "great" insurance company experience until unum this company is definetley top of the line.

UNUM terrible customer support. I do not recommend this company. They seem friendly upfront and then when you need something they deny everything.

Due to a mistake that Unum made, my husband and I had to pay them back over half what they paid out to us when he had to have back surgery and was out of work. The right hand has NO idea what the left hand is doing at this company. I will say that the reps I spoke to were very kind, but that is literally all this company has going for them. It would honestly have been easier to not have to worry about the piddly little amount we did receive and just not even deal with them. If your job offers an option to opt out- I would, and just take money from your paycheck and put it in savings for when you need it. It's honestly not worth the hassle.
