I’m aware there are many negative reviews, so I wanted to share a more balanced experience. I purchased my home in 2022 and chose this company because their quote was competitive compared to larger insurers. I’ve known people who were dropped by big-name companies after filing a claim, which factored into my decision. Insurance isn’t something you buy hoping to use it — it’s there to protect you when something unexpected happens. That said, how a company handles claims is important to know. Many big companies routinely will drop you. I had my first claim over a lightning-related electrical issue that damaged my well system. The payout was conservative, but it covered the repair. Sterling is a fantastic carrier for our clients for their homeowner's and umbrella insurance. Their homeowner's policy includes extras like water backup coverage and ordinance and law coverage without having to endorse them. They offer competitive premiums on the home policy and umbrella's, as well. Their representatives are friendly and knowledgeable with every interaction. Great carrier to work with.

I would love to tell you how this company works . I ask to speak to CEO or whatever runs this company. I was given the runaround many of times . So I called one of there sales people my home owner insurance agent. I explain what I wanted for insurance for my home . I thought i might run into a situation and wanted to be covered. She then sold me something and added to my insurance policy and guess what I was never covered. The agent even wrote it on the policy what I was looking for and what extra she sold me for. when they clearly seen it, they told me that she abbreviated it and didn’t have enough space to write a whole word on my policy. If you clearly see my policy, there was plenty enough space and you can even make another line. I called and made a complaint about the agent and all

Pick any other insurance company because this one will tell you they'll cover something, and then weeks later give you a call back and deny it on some fine print technicality. Linda Righi sounded pleased as can be to do it, as if giving their insured customers false information and denying claims makes her day! Have a great day she says! We're going to cancel as soon as possible. Obviously. So save yourself the time and rage bait.

Had a terrible problem with no Solution. Michael Downie & Lisa M. Yorke were the only ones that were able to help me to navigate thru all the Red Tape! I highly recommend them for excellent Customer Service!
