I had an accident at Kean University where I fell into a hole in the asphalt due to lack of maintenance while I was working. This happened almost a year ago. I twisted my ankle and cut my knee. I am still in pain, and I suspect the damage may be permanent. I have seen several doctors, but none have given me a solution. The insurance company sent me to a specialist after several failed attempts, but he was very rude and focused on harming me and blaming me for the injury instead of helping me improve my quality of life. I remain in pain, and my pace of life has completely changed. I went from being very active in sports and having multiple jobs to not being able to do sports at all and having only one job. I am writing to formally express my frustration regarding the handling of our inland marine coverage and recent claim. When we purchased our policy, we were promised inland marine coverage that would protect our equipment. However, after our equipment was stolen, we were informed that this coverage was not included and that another company was supposedly responsible — something that was never disclosed to us at the time of purchase. An inspector unexpectedly came to our property to perform an inspection, but we have not received any follow-up communication or updates since then. We have repeatedly called our assigned adjuster multiple times per day without any returned calls or progress on our claim. My company uses Sedgwick for parental leave and this is one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. Both times I put in leave, which should be fairly simple, they completely screwed it up and I had to call them several times to get it cleared up. The person on the phone when you make the claim makes it seem like everything will be fine, but then you never hear from them, look into it on your own, and find out that they put in your claim in every wrong way possible.

Worst, shadiest company I have ever dealt with. My company switched to Sedgwick from The Hartford to save Pennie’s, and it’s been a nightmare. Sedgwick is staffed by clueless kids who don’t follow up with doctors, don’t communicate properly, and often don’t return phone calls or emails. I’ve never been so stressed when I am supposed to be resting and healing. They’ll have a class action lawsuit soon enough.

OMG the worst experience in my entire life besides one of my best friends dying lol. My so-called case manager was calling my injury and alleged injury, so basically she's saying that I made it up or it may not be real or I got hurt somewhere else and then came to work for 10 hours and then said ouch my leg hurts. Worst company ever I am willing to give up two weeks pay and all my medical bills to not have to deal with these people. My so-called case manager was completely not on my side I thought workers comp was supposed to be fighting for your rights as an employee instead she was very rude and accusatory ish on the phone. If your company uses this company as workers comp please be very careful and don't get hurt at work because you will not be happy with the result.
