This is my first year with Pacific Source and I’ve never had such a difficult time getting prescriptions covered. Medications my family has been on for years not covered and they denied an MRI after a recent traumatic fall and badly injured my shoulder. I will NOt renew with them.
I have used this company for years. This last year they denied most medicines I needed. I have a long history of getting on proper medicine which was completely unravelled based on their practices. I was able to get prior authorization for some of the meds back but not without having to see doctors, which was not necessary. Some of the meds they would covered interacted with other medication I was taking. My doctors were not informed. Later in the year they reprocessed several claims. I thought I had reached my deductible when seeing physicians because that's what my plan had said when I went in, however since they keep reprocessing the claims with discounts to them, I constantly don't meet my deductible and that's when they decide to deny other claims. I have not had a positive experienc with Pacific Source. They cover the absolute barest minimum on everything.. I've been going back and forth with them for 6 months to get my treatment covered and it has been denied 3 times and returned with a LAUNDRY LIST of other treatment options they want exhausted first. Some of the options aren't even FDA approved - my doctor refused to even prescribe them. If you want to suffer or want your employees to suffer - this is defnitely the insurance to offer.
I had Pacific Source through a previous employer and then switched to my husband's insurance. My pharmacy billed Pacific Source after I switched and I was sent a large bill. When I called Pacific Source I was told that I needed to call the pharmacy to figure out billing. I did and the pharmacy was unable to find the claim. I called Pacific Source back and they were unable to find the claim as well. Hours later I received an email from them with the claim number telling me I had to work it out with my new insurance or pay the large bill. Customer service was unwilling to call the pharmacy or my new insurance. It seems odd to me that a mistake that was not made by a patient is the patient's problem to fix. I do not recommend them and feel that you can get better service and coverage elsewhe
Nothing is easy with them and they are very vague with their information. We have had several issues with them and I have never had to contact an insurance company so many times in my life to dispute bills and figure out what is happening with my accounts. They are lazy and try to get away with as little work as possible. I have to call and make sure things are getting taken car of so i don't have to overpay on our accounts. The deductible is high enough that you would think you would get much better service and coverage than you do. I will say one or two of the people I have talked to were kind and very helpful, but a majority of them are lazy and sound like they have no idea what they are doing.
