My children’s pediatric office has now been taken over by Optum. Optum’s billing practices are fraudulent. They charged me 2x for a service which I accidentally paid. It took them 5 months to refund me. I had to call every 15 days to follow up. They also charged me $839 for a child’s meningococcal vaccine. What vaccine cost $839?! I called other dr offices and got quotes for $157-$260. BIG difference. They are not honest and when you call, you go to a big call center to billing representatives that are no help. My children will no longer go to an Optum run medical office.

Since Optum took over New West Physicians Arvada that facility has deteriorated beyond description. My family and I received great care there for decades, but recently nothing has gone right. It would take an hour for me to describe all the screwups, not to mention the hours on the phone, unnecessary miles driven, etc. I am frustrated beyond belief. Worst of all, I don’t believe my wife and I are receiving good care anymore. New West Spine and Sports Center and New West Specialty Center have been adversely affected too - not sure what to do, I don’t want to start all over with someone new.

When I first became a patient here 5 years ago, everything was wonderful - easy to make appointments, easy to communicate with your doctor, no issues with prescription refills. Now, you are routed to their call center where no one is trained in medical expertise, its impossible to talk to your doctor/doctor's nurse, issues every month with my prescription refills, and customer service transfers 3 times to make a standard appointment. Additionally, I was concerned and began searching for a new clinic a couple months ago when the receptionist took my COVID temperature on my hand and did not ask for my ID when requesting a copy of my son's check-up information.

Optum taking over billing for the office we go to has been awful. They will always find an excuse to charge a copay on well exams. Just assume you will never have a free annual exam.

Horrible. Calling to make an appointment is a nightmare and will likely take 10+ minutes on hold. I had to track down my own test results when I was told I would receive a call. Their policy does not allow for you to speak with your doctor's office directly so I had to go in person to request my results. When I was requesting my results they were just going to print them off and have me leave. I had to ask to speak to someone about my results and they said "normally you need an appointment for that." I was forced to switch from the UCHealth system which was amazing. Looking to get off of my employer's insurance so that I can get back to UCHealth.
