Awful dealing with this company for short term disability as a self employed small business owner. Website is not useful and unclear, as are the instructions and explanations of how you need to jump through hoops for documentation. You need to submit documentation to a ridiculous degree and often they missed adding faxes from my doctors office. Then gaslighted me that they were not sent. Often times my emails were ignored when asking for basic policy information. One agent bordered on rude when I needed them to explain documentation they are demanding of me way past the end of the coverage period that ended 4 months ago. Way to do business NYSIF. Awesome way to deal with PAYING CLIENTS that are probably facing very challenging times when needing to use short term or family paid leave. Do n
My Experience with NYSIF is they pay you late and towards the end of your claim they will stop your benefits without any prior notice to you or your attorney. I feel like they have zero regards for how the injured worker will survive while waiting for the hearing process especially when it’s not in there favor no regards for humanity or sick people
Update:Now I actually have a nurse who is good about returning my calls and tries her best to get my meds. approved up from 1 star to 2. NYSIF gives me the runaround every month when I need my medications refilled. I have to jump through hoops and never get them on time. Not to mention, I just received a letter stating that none of my medications will be reimbursed come 2020, so I will have to start from scratch after the years it took to find a couple medications that provide moderate relief from my ailments.
Absolutely infuriating. I sincerely hope nobody has to go through NYSIF if they get hurt at work. Haven't received a payment in over a month. I continuously have to reach out and the last response was "I haven't calculated it (how much I should be getting paid) yet. You could reach out to the workers comp board." My bills are tanking. I can't afford to eat. But they couldn't care less about you and run on their own time
They are ruthless. You need a Cutthroat lawyer. And whatever you do do not go to Bond and McDonald's. They won't fight for you. They just want to make a quick settlement and almost make you feel guilty for asking for help.
