Meridian Title

They made an $4.5K error in the closing statement. When I called and pointed out the error, Kendra denied it, then stopped answering my calls or emails. I had to submit a complaint to DIFS. After I submitted the formal DIFS complaint, they admitted the errors and sent me only a partial refund $3.3K. I had to complain again to get the full amount they owed me. Overall, they are incompetent and unprofessional.

Do NOT use this title company if you expect your closing to be done on time. Do not expect your information to be filed and handled correctly. Do not expect this title company to file documents in a timely manner.

Just completed our sale by owner closing with the help of Meridian Title in New Buffalo, MI. We could not have had a more pleasant experience. Our escrow officer, Sheila Koudelka was such a pleasure to work with. She was professional and incredibly quick to respond to any questions or concerns, even responding to my emails on the weekend after business hours!! Thanks Sheila for taking such good care of us and thank you for being a true profession!

This is a great title company. The issue is they don't even shovel the sidewalk in front of their business, along the main road, US Highway 12, in the winter. Which leads to walkers, cyclists, runners, ...etc, having to traverse through snow dumped onto the sidewalk from the plow and natural accumulation too. That or use the plowed street and potentially get hit by a car. Quite dangerous if you ask me.

I was apprehensive about returning to MTC after my experience at another location, but the team in New Buffalo was great and provided a quick closing. Thanks much!
