I tried to switch my insurance to Mercury, but they canceled my policy because of the dog I own. My dog is a small, mixed-breed street dog — nothing aggressive or exotic — yet they apparently ran her photo through Google and decided she resembled a “dangerous breed.” This decision seemed completely arbitrary, based solely on an online suggestion rather than any real assessment. I was looking for home insurance, not pet insurance, yet their reasoning ignored that entirely. Their approach made me feel like customers are treated as a privilege rather than valued paying clients. I strongly do not recommend Mercury — save yourself the time and frustration and find a more reputable insurance provider.

Was a great company for years. Unfortunately they didn't provide a bundled umbrella policy so had to switch.
