I had a general contractors insurance policy with Markel for a year. I swapped to another company after that year not renewing the Markel policy. So here I am a year later and they have told me I have to show them my new policy when I cancel. They keep emailing and calling trying to collect money for a policy I did not renew. Do your due diligence and see if a customer still wants your services. Second I do not need to show you who I went with for insurance.

COMPLETE RIP OFF! My retired parents experienced damage from the hurricane and filed a claim... their deductible is 2% of their whole $325k policy vs the $2500 deductible that was applicable on their other claim... their deductible is close to $7k! They weren’t even awarded 10% of the cost to repair their, siding and water damage! SO disappointed and COMPLETELY embarrassed because I had my agent to help them shop around for insurance.

Garbage company. They have no intention of taking care of their customers. Will lie about their policy and coverage. You will need to sue them to get a fair settlement. I am an insurance professional.

Markel is the worst customer service in the insurance industry, do not and I repeat do not get into a contract with them or get insurance through them there is a good chance you will get screwed like I did, and subsequently harassed on the phone afterwards.

They tell you you get a discount if you add more vehicles but they have to be the same type.of vehicles.
