I was looking for Auto insurance, and a friend recommended this brokerage. I provided my information, and they ran a check. In the end, I decided not to purchase a policy. To my surprise, they charged me $150: - $50 as a “service fee” - $100 for an MVR report and CLUE report The problem is that these reports are inexpensive or even free if you request them yourself: An MVR (driving record) from the NY DMV costs $7–$10.A CLUE report is free once per year by law.I could understand a small processing fee for their effort but charging $150 when no policy was issued feels excessive and unfair. This was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this brokerage. If you do consider them, make sure you know upfront what fees you’ll be responsible for if you decide not to move forward.
