We are so glad our realtor gifted us the first year of HomeGuard coverage when we purchased our home last year. It turned out to be one of the best decisions for peace of mind as new homeowners. Emergency HVAC failure on Superbowl Weekend, had Emergency tech from Davis HVAC come out on Sunday. Complete failure of home HVAC system do to Ac/heat switch failure, past life span of system, thermostat failure, heat coils rusted and R22 no longer supported. Was put on emergency heat. Thermostat replaced. Was able to replace whole system after getting quotes from 5 different companies. Excellant install reasonable price. Called agent from Home Guard and reply was should have called first. Advised can file a claim but wont be approved. Lousy customer service and response to an emergency situation. To bad rating system does not allow me to rate lower than one star.

Extremely disappointed with HomeGuard HomeWarranty. We bought our home just 4 months ago and experienced a massive roof leak during a heavy storm. Even though we paid for 'Limited Roof Leak' coverage under the CA Advantage Plan, they denied the claim entirely because the leak was "near a skylight." And there is no definition for "near". The leak happened very far from the skylights. It feels like they include these tiny exclusions just to avoid paying for any real repairs. If you have any features on your roof like vents or skylights, don't bother with this warranty—they will find a reason to say no. I bought a house in May 2025 in Fresno, Ca. The seller included one year of home warranty protection through this company in case anything broke within a year of the sale. Today, January 21, 2026 , I called them to submit a claim for leaky water valves and rusty pipes. They denied the claim because I mentioned that the pipe was rusty where the leaky valve was and also that a plumber I spoke with suggested that the rest of the pipes might also be corroded. They assumed that the corrosion was a preexisting condition before the seller bought the policy. It was their responsibility to check the condition of the house and everything else before they issued the policy. I did my part by hiring an inspector who certified that the house and everything else was in working conditions. The policy

Thank you. -Angela! you have the best customer service I have ever experienced! you were welcoming, friendly and explained things that made me feel comfortable. I called in just wanting a quote and after speaking to Angela I signed up for a great package deal. I went with the one that covered more items, and did add ons, like paying extra to have a lower deductible which made great sense. Thank you again.
