I am filling a formal complaint against Farm Bureau regarding potential "redlining" or discriminatory pricing practices resulting in a disparate impact based on the racial demographics of my zip code. Upon shopping for homeowners insurance, I obtained nine quotes. Eight providers offered coverage with a $500 deductible at competitive rates. Farm Bureau provided a quote that was significantly higher in premium while simultaneously requiring a $5000 deductible, 10x the industry standard for this risk. This zip code is predominantly black and brown neighborhood. The extreme discrepancy between Farm Bureau's rates and the rest of the market suggests that your territorial rating formula may be using zip code as a proxy for race, or are otherwise failing to reflect actual loss-cost data in an eq

I have always dealt with Jane Rowell at Farm Bureau, always with excellent results.
