Donegal Insurance Group

This company is TRASH AND ARE SCAMMERS. In 2017 one of their clients blew through a stop sign and totaled my car. They sent a check in the mail addressed to ME with all of MY information. As any normal person would in my situation, I cashed the check that I was legally allowed to. They then reached out weeks later claiming that I cashed a check I had no rights to. They then turned around and sued me for the amount of the check and then some. So one of their clients totaled MY car and I ended up being stuck having to pay this scammer company $13,000 for a checking mistake one of THEIR employees caused… 9 years later and I’m still having to make monthly payments to them, while the underaged driver got off free after changing my life for the worse.

This company is absolute garbage. I was stranded on the side of the road after my car was having an issue and roadside assistance never picked up the phone. I had to risk the drive home not knowing what was wrong because no one was available. Then I come to find out that it was my transmission so I tried to file a claim even to get a rental car and nothing. Maybe next time I should just drive into a pole so I can get some help. What’s the point of insurance…?

After 18 months of being insured with this company, I suddenly received a surprise bill claiming they didn’t charge me enough for my previous policy — long after I had already switched to another provider. This feels completely unfair and unprofessional. To make matters worse, when I called to resolve it, it took over three hours just to speak with a manager. The manager was not only unhelpful, but also rude and dismissive the entire time. I’ve never dealt with such poor customer service or lack of accountability from an insurance company before.

Very shady insurance company. Had them as my homeowners insurance since I purchased my house in 2010. And never had one claim. When I got the policy it didn’t include any of the out buildings. Out of no where they canceled my policy because of the out building that where never even part of the policy. So much for being a customer for 15 years. I feel they canceled my policy because I was paying less for it because I was a customer for so long. So much for the 25 plus thousands I paid them for nothing. Don’t recommend!!!

“Mission Statement Providing peace of mind to our policyholders and being there when it matters most.” This is until you actually need their help. Had a fire, plenty of coverage and our claim has been a nightmare! Now we don’t even have enough money to rebuild our house. Shame on you Donegal. Now going on 10 months with no resolution or Donegal employee ever stepping foot on our property! Update, we canceled our commercial policy with them as poor as they have treated us on our homeowners policy. “We’re sorry you feel that way” their response. 1 star is generous. They have also blocked me on Facebook, classy.
