If you're insured by Allstate and drive for Uber, Lyft, Doordash or any other such service, please read this: In March 2025, I was struck by an uninsured motorist while delivering for DoorDash. Mongold Insurance had long been aware that I used my vehicle for business purposes and assured me I was covered since “Business Use” was included on my policy. I notified Mongold Insurance the next business day, and once again I was told that I had uninsured motorist coverage. However, when the claims adjuster called to gather accident details, she immediately stated my claim would be denied as soon as she learned I was delivering for DoorDash.
