Blue Cross & Blue Shield of SC

I had overall relatively good experiences with BCBS for years until this year. I am using the Blue Extend Network and have had to waste hours on the phone with BCBS and my providers' offices trying to straighten out issues that come about from BCBS employees not understanding their own plan. Claims keep getting processed as out of network even after I have quadruple checked that they are in network, and the provider is also told every time they run my benefits that they are in network. It took over a month and multiple calls just to get one office visit reprocessed correctly. I tried to get this cleared up in advance before getting additional much needed services at that provider, and I just discovered that every. single. EOB. was once again processed incorrectly. Worst insurance provider I have ever been apart of. Even though, before I call a doctor or dentist for an appointment, I call BCBS SC State Plan to see if the visit will be covered the service is still denied. This is the norm. Just last month I was having earaches and my ears were clogged. Before going to the doctor I called to see if this is covered and what my portion of the bill would be. I was told it is covered because the doctor I was going to is in-network and it's not a preventive care service but an actual ailment. This service was denied. I have not seen my regular doctor for a routine physical in over five years because preventive care is not covered in the state plan due to some grandfather rule about the size of the members in the state plan, even though the AHA requires that

Ever since obama screwed up insurance nationwide, bcbs has become one of the WORST insurances to have. Extremely high premiums for working people, extremely uncaring employees. Little information is given out for your plan. Years ago, I was able to get most of my medical needs taken care of. Now I pay $800 a month and they barely cover anything!!! They are a total joke and once insurance isn’t required, there will be others to take over and put them in their place that actually care. Jesus be with you guys, because I know he isn’t in this company.

I was thinking about getting service here but am now scared about having the FBI called on me if one of their employees gets upset.
