On 12/11/2025 I called to arrange a cancellation of my current coverage to be effective 12/31/2025 because I became eligible for healthcare.gov coverage and I activated a new BCBS plan through the exchange to be effective 1/1/2026. The agent was helpful and agreed to do it. After she was done she summarized the call stating our coverage on the current 2025 policy would remain active through the end of year because the policy was paid in full on 12/1/25. Unfortunately she accidentally cancelled it effective that day, 12/11. I didn't find out until 12/16 when I went to the doctor and they refused my card. I called BCBS on 12/17 and Tammy was pleasant and said she could help after another department checked the audio. She gave us case number 61065851 and said she'd call us back. She did not.

Pretty much stole money from me. Wants to take 30 days to refund me my money. So they don't care that I can't pay my mortgage or any of my bills. They don't care that me and my family might be homeless. Let's not forget the insurance company never wants to pay for anything we actually need. They have no problem taking your money but no we aren't going to pay for anything you actually need. Don't care if you need life saving medication or operation. Nope They won't pay for it. Smh They are heartless and Godless people. They only care about making their bank account bigger.

My husband had back surgery on Oct 20 2025. Nothing but issues, for post surgical pain management. BCBC wound not approve pain meds after going home. Had 2 peer meeting with my husband and the Duke doctors. Seeing a grown man cry being in pain . Been back in the hospital 2 times since them cause. He is still there now, Found out the cage they put in hi back is pressing a nerve., I am a nurse, this is Bull Crap. Insurance companies over ruling the Doctors etc. They don't know anything and health care. My husband is still in the hospital dealing with pain. Due to they found out that his cage they put in has shifted on his a nerve in back. They thinking they know what is best than you Doctor. they don't care. They just want your money

Terrible experience with BCBSNC. Three major failures: 1. Denied my medically necessary knee injections, which caused my knees to stay unstable and led to a fall that cracked a rib. 2. Denied the Lidocaine pain patch prescribed by urgent care the day before Thanksgiving, saying it needed prior authorization—impossible for an injury that just happened. 3. Stopped covering my Libre sensors after paying toward them since January. When I called, the rep basically called me a liar, contacted my pharmacy to “prove it,” and then hung up when the pharmacy confirmed BCBSNC had been paying. This company shows poor communication, terrible customer service, and no concern for member health or safety. Extremely disappointing and unacceptable.

First of all this site refuses to post without 1 star, they deserve NOTHING!!!! BCBS is now the worst insurance you can have. Remember back in the days when you had to take GENERIC meds and if you persisted and needed better quality name brand you had to get it pre-authorized!!!!! Now I've been trying to get the GENERIC for my Breo Ellipta inhaler for my asthma and they Denied me because their words are.....the request does not meet the definition of Medical Necessity found in the member's benefit booklet. WTH??? I needed a cheaper alternative due to me only working part time, and caring for my ailing husband after a death defying pneumonia with 1 1/2 lungs. He was on total life support for seven weeks and now I'm in dire situation financially with my meds and pleaded with the BCBS associa
