Amerigroup DC

I have been with three different providers under DC Medicaid over the years. Amerigroup is absolutely the worst. And by a significant margin. Don't even bother searching their provider list. It's hopelessly out of date. No one accepts them anymore.

Tried to make an appointment with the doctor on my plan and guess what? He’s retired.. Tried to make another appointment for anyone at this point and was told nothing was available until July!! I tried to register with the website listed on my healthcare card and I’m apparently not a member. Then tried to make an appointment for vision but in order to see that doctor I need a pre-authoriztion by, as I stated before the retired doctor. I thought care first was terrible but now I see they all are trash. I guess the algorithm for these groups if you’re not white can careless. Thanks mayor bowser once again for doing what you do best and that’s nothing for us black folks. It make sense why the ppl who always steal everything from us black folks keeps you in office.

Terrible insurance company. I'm diabetic, and they make it extremely difficult to get my insulin prescriptions filled and have been doing so for years. It causes me a lot of stress, and I frequently have to go without insulin. They should be ashamed of their policies.

Really bad insurance plan to go with for Medicaid. No one accepts your insurance try going with another plan for Medicaid.

A Medicaid Managed Care Organization serving District residents, Amerigroup us a subsidiary of Anthem Inc. service to it's members is top notch and the premises will host a full service member wellness center. I highly recommend anyone looking for a Medicaid plan go with Amerigroup.
