I just wanted to let American Specialty Insurance Company know as I was renewing my policy this morning...... I was blessed to talk with your team member, Mr. Drake Fahrnow. He was very Professional, Knowledgeable, Friendly, Helpful & Kind. It is always so refreshing to actually get to talk to a team member - in the world today. Mr. Fahrnow truly uplifted my day - I needed my policy renewed right away and my computer wasn't working. I have had the American Specialty Insurance Company for many years for my Clowning Business - each and every year the staff are amazing, very professional, polite and friendly if I have any questions or need help completing my forms etc. Once I renew my policy - I can relax for the rest of the year - uplifted others and bring laughter & smiles to every

Denied coverage because MY particular martial art isn’t covered. From what I read on their other reviews, probably a good thing I didn’t get to use them. They need to stop claiming they cover martial arts and say they cover Thai Chi as long as you go real slow.

If you are a small business looking for insurance they will take advantage of you and deceive you out of money. I asked for a 1 month extension on our insurance and the rep said that I should renew our policy and simply cancel at the end. They took $500 upfront and then refused to refund any money after I canceled. They said that I was in violation of some policy for canceling early and now they are charging me fees. Phil, you guys are using deceptive practices to steal money from small business. Shame on you. You are charging me $500 for 1 month insurance. Sluggers is just a small business.

Avoid them. We are a small business and through our franchise we got setup with American Speciality as our Insurance provider. Last year our cost was $5000/year, which seemed high but we didn't think we had a choice on a different provider. This year our premium jumped by $1000 to $6000/year. Because of this we did research to learn we could shop the policy and found the same exact coverage through State Farm for $3000/year. When we went to cancel our policy with American Speciality they short changed us on our refund. For the 21 days of coverage we had with them out of 365 we were charged $1100. $1100 out of $6000 for only 21 days! An absolute joke and scam. Shop your local reps and someone you are able to meet face to face with to do business.

American Specialty does a great job taking care of our clients. Their underwriting approach, claims service, and program structure give them a tremendous competitive advantage in a market usually limited in choices. We’re grateful for their partnership and look forward to continuing to work with them.
