I was working with a broker for two months to switch my insurance from progressive to Allstate saving $3000 in the process with the IDENTICAL policy. At the last minute in spite of me accepting several quotes over a few weeks Allstate decided not to accept the brokers proposal, raising my rates $3000 a year. Extremely disappointing. I’d never use Allstate. I think this tactic is unethical.

Avoid Allstate at all costs. Allstate consistently falls short when it matters most. Their adjusters minimize legitimate property damage, even when clear signs of interior water intrusion and structural issues are present. Instead of proactively reinspecting when concerns are raised, they shift the burden back onto policyholders to "submit a supplement," delaying resolution while damage worsens. Communication is poor, professionalism is lacking, and the overall claims process reflects a company more focused on cost containment than fulfilling its contractual obligations. Be cautious—policyholders deserve better than patchwork inspections and dismissive service. If you value your home, time, or sanity—stay far away from Allstate.
